Toen alle bijdragen eind 1847 binnen waren en men op het punt stond de kopij af te drukken, ontving de redactie de mededeling dat er niets mocht worden gepubliceerd zonder toestemming van de Gouverneur-Generaal. Kwam het omdat de 'suspecte' Van Hoëvell één van de redacteuren was ?
